Parrish Randall
Actor

ABOUT
ME!

Parrish Randall was born in the small town of Groesbeck, Texas to parents Wilmer and Linda. By the time he reached the age of five years, his parents began noticing his love for and his fixation on movies. The old Late, Late Show classics that used to play on local television channels presented his parents with quite a challenge when it came to getting elementary school aged Parrish into bed at reasonable hours. By the time he was ten, Parrish had his first Super 8mm movie camera and a projector. He began to crank out mini-movies that reflected his love for those classics that he'd viewed on TV. He quickly developed a love for horror films as well, in large part thanks to his Aunt Carolyn's introduction of the genre to her nephew Parrish. Midnight thriller movies and drive-in shockers became Parrish's most beloved genre of film. He expressed, after seeing "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", that one day he wanted to be an actor and tell stories through films in that way. Parrish married his high school sweetheart, Teresa, in 1985 and thereafter worked many years within the financial arena of corporate healthcare. Finally, in 2000, he decided it was time to give his life long aspiration to pursue acting a try, however. In large part he decided to go for his dream thanks to actor, friend and mentor, Joe Don Baker's, encouragement. In 2001, he landed small walk on roles and bit parts in the CBS series "Walker Texas Ranger" and other episodic television programs. In 2005, however, Parrish got his break playing the principle role of villainous Blythe Remington in "The Quick and the Undead". The film was a hybrid of the spaghetti western and the zombie genres. Shot in Los Angeles and in Texas, the film premiered at what was then Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California and was subsequently released by Anchor Bay/Starz Media Entertainment. After that, Parrish began to work more and more steadily as an actor within the horror film genre. "Parrish was born with this calling to be an actor and that's what he always wanted to do" says his Aunt Carolyn, "He is one of those people who somehow knew what he wanted to become professionally before he was six or seven years old." Parrish Randall is also very much a person who enjoys meeting and talking with people, which shows whether he is on the set or at a horror convention. "He truly loves and appreciates those horror fans who have supported him in his career endeavors" his Aunt further elaborates, "but he'd appreciate them even if they never saw a horror film of his or anbody else's...he just has a way of liking all people and never really feeling as though he is meeting a stranger." What does Parrish have to say about all of this? "I am just a lucky schmuck who is extremely thankful to have the opportunities to do what I love and call it my career. I will forever be thankful to Joe Don for encouraging me to pursue my goals in life and also to the horror film fans. I work for them...and I mean that sincerely. The fans, those kind folks who view the films, they are the reason that any of us get to make movies. Any actor or filmmaker should never forget that fact." Does Parrish Randall ever intend on retiring? Say's Parrish in response "No...not as long the filmmakers and the fans of the genre will still keep me around. I love this artform that is acting...and what a blessing it is to get to coninually slip into these other characters in order to create entertainment through story telling on film for audiences to view. I really do love it." Parrish splits his time between Texas and California. He and his wife have now been married over 30 years, when you see Parrish at a convention you'll often see his wife by his side. When asked what had kept their marriage on solid ground for over three decades, Parrish said " Well, I could give a quick witted, catchy answer like Kevin Bacon does when he says to keep the fighting clean and the sex dirty, but the truth is that the answer for Teresa and I has been to maintain a mutual love, a mutual respect...and also a mutual romance with and for one another. Sex is extremely important in any relationship...but when the sex is coupled with a mutual love for each other...then it becomes lovemaking...out of which you have this romantic bonding from the heart that keeps holding two people together because they actually want to be together." When asked if his wife has ever become jealous about any love scenes that he may have been called upon to do for a film he replied "Never, she knows that it's not real...but just to be safe, if there is a scene like that in a film that I'm asked to do, I make sure that she has read the script and knows what's expected of my character before I even agree to do the film, She recognizes that it's my job though and that any love scene in a film is no more a reality than when I'm playing a character who is chasing someone through the woods with an axe or something! It's always only about acting and about making the movie!!!"
So, what does the future hold for Parrish Randall? "With a little luck and a lot of working hard to keep working", says Parrish, "I'll continue to be a working actor. That's the goal and what I always hope and work towards!!!"
